![]() Karen came into the store the other day and showed us this FABULOUS sample of the versatility of embossing powders! She created this cute lil' fish by stamping in a clear pigment ink (e.g. Versamark) and then applying various colours of embossing powder with the tip of a very thin straw so that she had ultimate control over the placement of the various powders. she used black embossing powder around the face and along the top of the fish, then slowly lightened her colours as she moved down the fish's body, until she applied a clear powder along the bottom. She applied all the powders first, then held the cardstock in one hand as she gently tapped it rhythmically on the underside - this softens and blends the borders between the various colours. Karen then tapped off the excess and embossed her image. Once the embossing was done, she applied watercolor paint, with a thin brush, to add detail in the face, eyes and fins. I'd be curious to see how Copic markers take to this technique. Hmmm....If you try it, let us know! We'd love to see what you come up with! |
