It's much more interesting-for you and the interviewee-to talk about the stories and emotions behind the events in your family's past. Use these questions as a springboard for planning your interview:
The answers to these questions make a great scrapbook layout. Just add a photo of the interviewee when they were younger or a current photo, and you are done. This will be a very treasured layout.
