Stamping on Photos PDF Print E-mail
an article from Inkadinkado

Move beyond paper and cardstock and try stamping directly on photos. You can turn a so-so photo into a fabulous work of art.

It's easy to do, you just have to choose the right ink. You'll get the best results with a quick-drying pigment ink made for glossy paper. It provides the best opacity and the fastest drying time.

You can also use solvent or dye inks, but the drying time will be much longer (an hour or more), and the colors will be more see-through. Don't try to use a heat embossing tool to shorten the drying time. It will blister the photo paper.

As for color, black or other dark colors of ink will have the most impact on the photo.

To preserve your original photos, use reprints or photocopies instead. You can also enlarge or reduce them at the same time to fit your card or scrapbook page.
